My one-woman play “A New Hope” was met with great response, here in Toronto and in Nova Scotia. It was so rewarding to know that every time I did the show, proceeds were going to 2 very good causes: The Stephen Lewis Foundation Arts Funds, that helps those in Africa affected by aids heal through art, and The Black Loyalists Heritage Society in Shelburne, Nova Scotia. I also had the opportunity to work with Historica Dominion Institute and do a workshop about the history of the play and Black History in Canada, and did some of my workshops about music and Black history. A busy month for sure, but so rewarding!

A big thank you (again!) to Cynthia Low, Tony Ansou John, ING Direct Network Orange Cafe, The Black Loyalist Heritage Society, The Stephen Lewis Foundation, CBC Metro Morning, CTV News @ noon, Jamaias DeCosta @ CIUT Radio, Sway Magazine Online, Ori Dagan @ The Epoch Times, and everyone that gave me a write up, a shout out, an email blast, & helped during the show (pre & post)… you made this month the success that it was!

I am thrilled to let you all know I am FINALLY doing the production here in Toronto, and at the same time supporting a very worthy cause… THE STEPHEN LEWIS FOUNDATION ARTS FUND. This program uses art to heal and give hope in the frontlines of the AIDS pandemic. I hope you will come out to support this work. A HUGE thank you to ING Network Orange Cafe for allowing this work to take place at their space at Yonge and Dundas. Please go to my calendar to see the dates, times, and location. time in North America, in Halifax, Nova Scotia… my hometown. I was honoured to be part of the conference, and to participate in

several events including the re-opening of the Black Cultural Centre,  the christening o the Africville Church and Museum, & 

having the opportunity to do my play ”A New Hope” at the Maritime Museum of the Atlantic for a packed

house, and two schools in the Halifax & Dartmouth area.
