I’’ve been checking out
some great CD. Here’s my latest
raves:
Brandy “Afrodisiac”…LOVE
IT! Soulful, beautiful….a great
listen!
Ray Charles “Genius
Loves Company” – Need
I say more?
Green Day “American
Idiot” – I love these
guy. They make political statements
fun!
K-OS “Joyful
Rebellion” Have a listen to
this great Canadian talent!! His rap/speak
is vibrant!

My staples as far as magazines go,
I like PEOPLE for
the gossip factor, and good ole Chatelaine.
Now, for books, it’s been varied,
but lately I’ve read Angels
and Demons & The
Da Vinci Code by Dan Brown.
Both kept my interest from start to
finish. This summer a friend introduced
me to author Ruth Rendell & one
of her mystery novels Babes
in the Wood & it was
really great as a summer read.

Those who know me know I love to cook!
So here are a couple of my favourite
recipes I want to pass on to you.
More will be added as the site progresses,
and if you are looking for a recipe,
let me know. I have a vast collection
of yummy standards I’d love
to pass on! Or send one to me you
like and we can add them to the site!
Creamy
Tomato Soup
I totally LOVE soup, and this one
is so easy and good. I’ll be
adding more as the fall progresses,
and you can warm up in the cold winter
with them with me!
1
can (16oz) stewed tomatoes
½ cup vegetable or chicken
broth
½ cup half & half or sour
cream
salt & pepper to taste
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese &
parsley (see optional)
Mash
tomatoes in saucepan. Stir in broth
and half & half or sour cream.
Heat on medium heat, stirring occasionally.
Season with salt & pepper. Serve
in bowls with a swirl of half &
half or sour cream on top. (Optional:
while heating, sprinkle 1 cup of cheddar
cheese and 1 tablespoon of parsley
in with soup!).
Easy
Cheesecake
This is the classic “Philly”
recipe. It’s literally just
throwing it in a pan people! Serve
with fresh or canned fruit when done
& voila! A dessert is born! Simple
and yummy!2 packages regular or light
cream cheese
½ cup sugar
½ teaspoon vanilla
2 eggs
1 ready made graham cracker pie crust
Mix
all ingredients in a bowl until well
blended, adding eggs last, one at
a time. Pour into crust. Bake at 350
degrees(180c) for 40 minutes or until
centre is almost set. Cool. Refrigerate
3 hours or overnight. Makes 8 servings
on 2 if you are on a pie eating binge!
For no bake pie, just add filling
to the ready crust and chill for a
couple of hours and eat. And if you
can’t wait for the chilling
time…hell, just eat!
Apple
Cinnamon Pizza
This is one of my favourite dessert
pizzas. These are so much fun and
different to serve to guests, and
again…SO easy!
1
ready made pizza crust
1/3 cup dried cranberries or raisins
(optional)
3 cups finely chopped & peeled
apples
2 tablespoons sugar
2 tablespoons brown sugar
2 tablespoons butter melted
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1 teaspoon cinnamon
¼ teaspoon real vanilla (optional)
Sprinkle
pie crust with raisins or cranberries
if using. Combine all the ingredients
and spoon over pie crust. Bake in
centre of oven 450 degrees (230c)
for about 15 minutes or until crust
is golden & slightly puffed and
apples are tender. Remove and let
stand 5 min. Using pizza slicer or
scissors, cut into 8 slices.
